| Resumo: | O presente trabalho visa discutir a coerência da exposição pública, epideixis (ἐπίδειξις), do sofista Protágoras na obra homônima do filósofo Platão, em que se tenta responder acerca da possibilidade de ensinar sobre a virtude política. Para tanto, tal discussão parte de um contexto histórico, o que ajuda a explicar o surgimento dos sofistas como protagonistas na educação dos jovens gregos, mas que foram postos, em muitos momentos, à margem da História da Filosofia como um grupo irrelevante e que deveria ser combatido. Assim, esse trabalho busca evidenciar as características do ensino do sofista, bem como a consistência do seu discurso. |

| Abstract: | The present work aims to discuss the coherence of the public exhibition, epideixis (ἐπίδειξις), by the sophist Protagoras in the homonymous work of the philosopher Plato, in which an attempt is made to answer about the possibility of teaching about political virtue. Therefore, this discussion starts from a historical context, which helps to explain the emergence of the sophists as protagonists in the education of young Greeks, but who were often placed on the sidelines of the History of Philosophy as an irrelevant group that should be fought. Thus, this work seeks to highlight the characteristics of the sophist's teaching, as well as the consistency of his speech. |
